FIX - MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

The project has been undertaken by construction company, Aktor S.A. and the architectural adaptation was prepared by architectural office 3SK Stilianidis. The systems selected to depict the historical value of the project are of ETEM. The whole effort was a “bet” to maintain the architectural style of the most representative industrial building in Athens while transforming it to a modern art museum. The biggest challenge in this project was to achieve the high sound reduction requirements. ETEM gave the solution with the E85 facades system, E45, opening system with thermal break, E3000 sliding systems with thermal break and E85 Façade security system, with protection against unwanted entrance, all of them unique in their class. Specifically on the Roof Garden of the building a custom solution with E3000 system was given by Etem in order to achieve noise reduction of 47db. On the ground floor, focusing on safety, E85 Façade security system was used. Finally, due to the disparity of the external walls of the building, special attention was given on the external ETEM façade that was applied. The end result is an aesthetic and functional masterpiece. The Museum of Modern Art will open its doors to visitors in the next months.
